CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA- The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a former county employee on charges that she stole more than a quarter of a million dollars over a seven year span from the county office that she worked in. The employee was terminated from her position late last year as the investigation was ongoing.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 55-year-old Lynn Page. Investigators suspect Page, who worked as an Accounts Receivable Coordinator for Cherokee County stole a total of $251,857.82 over the course of seven years from Cherokee County. The alleged thefts began in 2018 according to investigators.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of Page, which outlined the amount of money she is suspected of stealing from the Cherokee County Development Service Center. The county agency is responsible for reviewing and issuing various permits in Cherokee County to include; developments, alcohol licenses, and others.
Page was relieved from her position with Cherokee County in October 2025. An arrest warrant was issued for her arrest on January 8, 2026, and she surrendered to the Sheriff’s Office on January 10, 2026. Page was granted and bond and did post that bond shortly after turning herself in.
Investigators have not released details on how Page was able to obtain the funds from the county agency she worked in. The investigation continues.
