MACON-BIBB COUNTY, GA- The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an overnight shooting that sent a 29-year-old woman to the hospital. An investigation is now underway as investigators work to piece together the events that led to the violence in middle Georgia.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 10:46 p.m. a call was received to the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center reporting a person shot in the 3600 block of Mercer University Drive in Macon.
BCSO deputies quickly responded to the scene and were able to locate a 29-year-old female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. An ambulance arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment. The victim has been listed in stable condition by medical staff at the hospital as of our press time.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division has assumed lead in the investigation and that investigation is ongoing at this time.
