BIBB COUNTY, GA– Deputies in Bibb County are investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in Bibb County on Friday night.
According to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, May 22, 2026, at around 11 p.m., deputies were called to the 5000 block of Hawkinsville Road near the intersection of Kumho Parkway in reference to an accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
When deputies arrived they located a 25-year-old male that had sustained severe injuries in connection to being struck by a vehicle. Deputies say the victim was unresponsive when they arrived on the scene.
Deputies spoke with witnesses on the scene who told investigators the victim was crossing the street when he was struck by a blue Lexus. Deputies have noted the victim was wearing dark clothing at the time of the accident.
Medical responders arrived on the scene and performed life saving measures, but the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as 25-year-old Kemontre Azian Braswell.
The collision remains under investigation. The 58-year-old driver of the Lexus has not been charged at this time and did remain on scene. Anyone with information about this accident is asked to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
