APD Investigates Wednesday Afternoon Stabbing Near Midtown

ATLANTA, GA- Atlanta police are investigating a Wednesday afternoon stabbing near a busy Midtown area of town. The stabbing left one person seriously injured and in a local hospital as investigators are now working to piece together the events of what led to the afternoon violence.

According to information released by the Atlanta Police Department, officers were called to the area of 554 Piedmont Avenue NE around 3:16 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in reference to a person stabbed. When responding officers arrived on the scene they were able to locate a adult male victim that had sustained an apparent stab wound.

EMS arrived on the scene and rendered aid to the victim and transported him to an area hospital for treatment. According to police the victim is currently listed in critical condition.

Atlanta police began their preliminary investigation and have gathered evidence that indicates a verbal altercation escalated to to the assault with the weapon on the victim. Police have not released any details on a possible suspect at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

The Atlanta Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit is leading the investigation at this time.
