Woman Found Fatally Shot In Atlanta Neighborhood

ATLANTA, GA- Homicide investigators in Atlanta are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Wednesday morning. The shooting happened near an apartment complex on the Northwest side of the city. Police are now working to piece together what happened and find the person or persons responsible for the woman’s death.

According to the Atlanta Police Department on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at around 8:56 a.m., officers with APD were dispatched to the 2500 block of Center Street in northwest Atlanta in reference to a person shot. The address is located at the Woodland Heights Apartments.

When responding officers arrived on the scene they were able to locate a female victim inside of a vehicle in the area. Officers say the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but succumb to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Police have not identified the victim at this time. Investigators with the Atlanta Police Department homicide unit responded to the scene and assumed the lead in this investigation. The investigation is on going and anyone with any information should contact Atlanta Police.

As of our press time, police have not announced any arrests or suspect in connection to the case.
