MACON, GA- A 18-month old baby drowned at a pool at a residence in Macon on Thursday evening. Life saving measures were attempted but the child succumb to injuries sustained during the incident in central Georgia Thursday.
A relative of the child found the baby floating in a pool at a residence on Scotland Avenue in Macon on the afternoon of Thursday, June 25, 2026. First responders arrived on the scene and performed life-saving measures before transporting the child to Navicent Children’s Hospital.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel the child succumb to the injuries and was pronounced deceased at around 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
The drowning marks the latest in central Georgia. A 4-year-old drowned in Macon last month during the Memorial Day holiday weekend. As the 4th of July weekend approaches experts are issuing reminders about pool safety and children.
