Cobb County Police have arrested a 16-year-old in connection to the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old classmate over the weekend.
LAGRANGE, GA- A LaGrange, Georgia man is recovering after a domestic dispute turned into a domestic related assault on Saturday morning. The victim sustained a stab wound to the chest that police suspect was inflicted by his live in girlfriend before he was able to seek medical help. The suspect is also suspected of inflicting more than $1,500 of damage to the victims property.
According to information released by the LaGrange Police Department on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. a male victim walked into the LaGrange Police Department headquarters and filed a walk-in report with officers. The victim stated earlier in the day he was involved in a verbal dispute with his live-in girlfriend, at their shared residence on Davis Road in the City of LaGrange. Police say the dispute had begun over accusations of infidelity.
Police suspect the dispute escalated, when the live-in girlfriend, identified as Kimija Hopson, obtained a steak knife and stabbed the victim in his chest. The stab wound resulted in a minor injury that was visible to officers. In addition to stabbing the victim, the suspect is also reported to have caused more than $1,500 in damages to the victims 2016 Toyota Camry, during the incident.
LaGrange police began their investigation and following the investigation, officers arrested Kimija Hopson on charges of aggravated assault (family violence) and criminal damage to property, 2nd degree-family violence. She was booked into the Troup County Jail.
