COLUMBUS, GA- Police in Columbus are investigating an early morning incident at an Amazon warehouse where shots were fired. Police responded to reports of an active shooter at the warehouse in the early morning hours of Monday and the suspect took his own life shortly afterwards.
Initial reports indicate at 4:47 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, the Columbus 911 Center received reports of a person outside of the Amazon Warehouse located at 5898 Osceola Court in Columbus. Callers told 911 operators there was an active shooter outside of the building firing shots at the building.
Columbus police responded to the scene and located a person they suspected to be the gunmen a short distance from the facility. Initial reports are indicating the suspected gunmen took his own life shortly after the arrival of law enforcement. Columbus Police say that the suspect brandished a firearm, which lead to a brief standoff, before the suspect took his own life with a self inflicted gunshot. Police have not released the identity of the suspected gunman at this time.
Limited details are available at this time. Columbus Police posted on their X account that the suspected gunmen was dead following an active shooter situation at the Amazon Warehouse in Columbus. The Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the incident. There were workers present in the warehouse when the shots were fired at this time it has been confirmed that no employees were injured.
