TWIN CITY, GA- A Vidalia man is behind bars after he was arrested Monday in connection to a fatal shooting in Emanuel County, Georgia. Law enforcement suspect and argument between the two brothers escalated to gunfire, which left one brother dead and the other behind bars.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has announced the arrest of 44-year-old LaMarkius Tiwaun White, of Vidalia, Georgia. Investigators have charged White in connection to the fatal Monday morning shooting of 35-year-old LaCorey White, of Twin City, Georgia.
According to information released by the GBI, preliminary information gathered by investigators indicates that on Monday, January 26, 2026, around 10 a.m. an argument between the two White brothers was taking place at a home located in the 400 block of 2nd Street in Twin City. The argument escalated and LaMarkius is suspected of shooting LaCorey during the argument.
First responders responded to the scene and pronounced LaCorey White deceased on the scene. LaMarkius was taken into custody and booked into the Emanuel County Jail. He has been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
The investigation is ongoing. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
