ATLANTA, GA- A woman escaped serious injury when she was grazed by a bullet on Friday night while attending an event at a home in west Atlanta. Police are now searching for two possible suspects that are believed to have opened fire on the home resulting in the injuries to the female victim.
According to Atlanta Police, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Hemphill School Road NW on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:23 p.m. in reference to calls of a shooting. Officers quickly responded to the scene located just off of Martin Luther King Drive in Atlanta and discovered a conscious and breathing female victim that had sustained a injury after being grazed by a bullet.
The victim in the shooting was transported to a local hospital and has been listed in stable condition. As the victim was transported to the hospital, investigators continued to work to piece together what had led to the shooting. According to preliminary information gathered by investigators, there was an event taking place inside of the residence on Hemphill School Road, when it appears that two individuals outside of the home began to discharge firearms into the occupied dwelling.
The two suspected shooters fled the scene. No additional injuries were reported in the incident, which remains under investigation by the Atlanta Police Department. There have been no arrests or suspect information released at this time.
