Ellaville City Manager Arrested On 29 Counts Of Theft By Taking -

ELLAVILLE, GA- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has announced the arrest of the City Manager of a small southwest Georgia town. Agents have arrested the local political leader on 29 counts of theft by taking.

According to release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), agents arrested and charged 50-year-old Donna Lynn McChargue, of Ellaville, Georgia on 29 counts of theft by taking. She was booked into the Schley County Jail following the arrest.

The GBI says in October 2025, the GBI was requested by the Southewestern District Attorney’s Office to investigate McChargue, who is the city manager of the city of Ellaville. Agents began their investigation and developed evidence that showed suspicious purchases and withdrawls made by McChargue.
