24-Year-Old Woman Killed In Shooting At Atlanta Apartment Complex

ATLANTA, GA- Atlanta homicide investigators are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 24-year-old woman Friday afternoon. The shooting that took place in a residential area located just off of Campbellton Road on the southwest side of the capital city.

According to preliminary information released by Atlanta police, on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 1:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to reports of a person shot at 1993 Bent Creek Way SW. Responding officer raced to the scene and were able to locate a 24-year-old female victim that had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim had no signs of life and medical personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim as deceased on the scene. The Atlanta Homicide Unit arrived on the scene and was able to take lead in the investigation. At this time no motive has been released in the case.

Officers that responded to the scene were able to detain a person that police have called a possible suspect. At this time there has been no word if that person was charged. The case remains under investigtation.
