ATLANTA, GA- A 16-year-old male is recovering after he sustained non-life threatening wounds in a shooting in a northwest Atlanta apartment complex on Wednesday evening. The victim was transported to a local hospital and received treatment for his injuries and is expected to make a full recovery according to police.
Preliminary information released by APD indicates that at 6:57 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, officers with APD were dispatched to reports of a person shot at 314 Skipper PL NW in the City of Atlanta. The area is located just off of Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy in northwest Atlanta.
When responding officers arrived on scene they were able to locate a 16-year-old male that had sustained a gunshot wound to his foot. Police indicate the victim was alert and conscious when officers arrived. An ambulance arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
At this time APD has not announced any arrests or suspect in connection to the case. The investigation is underway and being led by APD’s Aggravated Assault Unit. The victim is expected to survive his injuries.
