EATONTON, GA- An Eatonton man is behind bars, after being arrested by agents with the GBI this month. After an investigation by numerous agencies developed evidence to link the suspect to online activities involving the sexual exploitation of children.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents arrested 38-year-old Corey Hickey, of Eatonton, Georgia on three counts of sexual exploitation of children.
According to information released by the GBI in October 2025, the GBI’s CEACC Unit began an investigation into Hickey’s online activity after receiving a Cyber Tipline Report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The tip involved information regarding the possible online production, possession, and distribution of child sexual abuse material. Information gathered during the investigation led to the arrest of Hickey.
The investigation into Hickey involved the efforts of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the GBI’s Investigative Office in Milledgeville, and the GBI Cyber Crime Center.
Hickey was taken into custody and booked into the Putnam County Jail.
The investigation into Hickey is part of an ongoing effort by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a part of the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit.
