COLUMBUS, GA- The Columbus Police Department has announced the arrest of three men in connection to a fatal July 2025 shooting of a 17-year-old female and her unborn child. The trio now sit jailed in connection to the incident on several charges including feticide.
Investigators with the Columbus Police Department obtained arrest warrants for 21-year-old Javon Seals, 18-year-old Deandre Scranton, and 21-Year-Old Landon Owens on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Investigators quickly worked to round up the three men. Police sought murder charges against the three men in connection tot he July 27, 2025, drive-by shooting that killed 17-year-old Keiauna McFadden and her unborn child.
On Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 1:10 a.m. Columbus Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2600 block of Juniper Avenue. When police arrived on the scene they were able to locate two female victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the females was located on the scene and the second was located nearby in a vehicle located on Japonica Drive.
The two victims were transported to Piedmont Midtown Medical Center in Columbus for treatment. The second victim identified as 17-year-old Keiauna McFadden, was airlifted to Grady Hospital in Atlanta in critical condition. Police say that McFadden was pregnant at the time. She succumb to her injuries on Friday, August 1, 2025, and was pronounced deceased at 4:08 p.m. The second victim was treated and later released from the hospital.
Investigators have worked the case since the shooting took place. Investigators gathered evidence over the course of the investigation and were able to obtain warrants for the three men, who were all taken into custody late last week. Seals and Scranton were captured in Columbus and booked into the Muscogee County Jail. Owens was arrested in nearby Troup County and was extradited back to Columbus to face charges.
The three men are charged with murder, 4 counts of aggravated assault, feticide, drive-by shooting, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Scranton is also facing charges of theft by taking a motor vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
