Arrington Mckheil Bostic has been arrested and charged in connection to the deadly shooting of Deondrey Florence in Barnesville, Georgia on September 20, 2025.
BARNESVILLE, GA- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has announced the arrest of a 17-year-old suspect in connection to a deadly shooting earlier this month in the city of Barnesville. The arrest marks the third arrest in the case as the investigation continues.
On Monday, September 29, 2025, 17-year-old Arrington Mckheil Bostic of Monticello, Georgia was arrested on charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Bostics charges stem from the fatal shooting of 41-year-old Deondrey Florence.
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 11:45 p.m., officers with the Barnesville Police Department responded to reports of shots fired near the 200 block of Southland Drive. When officers arrived they located a male victim deceased from gunshot injuries. The victim was identified as Deondrey Florence. Barnesville police requested the assistance of the GBI in investigating a homicide.
Investigators moved quickly on the case and made two arrests within days of the fatal shooting. Investigators arrested 18-year-old Ferrijha Sakarra Sims, of Flovilla, Georgia. Sims has been charged with tampering with evidence in connection to the case. Investigators also arrested and charged 19-year-old Wadderius Dyjon Brown of Barnesville on charges of false statements.
Within days of the shooting, investigators had also identified their suspect in the case. GBI agents and Barnesville Police named 17-year-old Arrington Mckheil Bostic as the suspect in the case. Upon being taken into custody he was booked into the Lamar County Jail.
