GREENE COUNTY, GA- The Georgia State Patrol says three people were killed in a deadly motor vehicle accident on Interstate 20 in Greene County early Saturday. The accident left a young couple and one other person deceased.
According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), the accident occurred when a gray Ford Mustang traveling in the left lane of traffic on Interstate 20 hit the rear of a Nissan Maxima in the right lane while traveling east on I-20 near mile marker 138. The initial crash caused the Mustang to travel off the road on the south shoulder of the highway and collide with a tree. Two occupants of the Mustang were ejected from the impact.
The accident happened around 6:22 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026. The driver of the Mustang was pinned inside of the vehicle as the vehicle caught fire. The driver of the Mustang was later pronounced deceased at the scene. The two people that were ejected from the vehicle were taken to hospitals in Greeensboro and Augusta, where both later succumb to their injuries.
The Greene County Coroner’s Office has identified the victims of the crash as 20-year-old Darren Moore and his wife 19-year-old Lliyah Moore. The third victim has been identified as 21-year-old Rashod Boyd. The driver of the Nissan Maxima did not sustain any injuries in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
