CATAULA, GA- Investigators in Harris County have arrested and charged a man in connection to a Thursday death in the small west Georgia community of Cataula. Limited details have been released but a suspect is now behind bars charged in connection to the death of another man.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division, on June 18, 2026, deputies were called to 7317 US Highway 27 in Cataula in reference to an unresponsive person. Deputies arrived on the scene and located a male victim deceased. A cause of death has not been released by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The victim has been identified as Jamison Sankey.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division assumed lead in the investigation. The investigators were able to identify evidence in their investigation that led them to a possible suspect. Deputies with assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested and charged Lexter Isaac Torres-Rosa in connection to the death.
Torres-Rosa has been booked into the Harris County Jail in Hamilton and is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
