ATLANTA, GA- Two people sustained gunshot injuries in a early morning incident in Atlanta’s Edgewood neighborhood. Two people have now been arrested and charged in connection to the incident in the area of Atlanta just east of downtown that is known for its vibrant nightlife and party district.
According to Atlanta Police officers were called to the area of 357 Edgewood Avenue around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in reference to a person shot. Officers responded to the scene and located an adult male suffering from two gunshot wounds to the chest. Officers would later locate a second male victim that had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.
Officers began their investigation into the incident and learned that two groups were walking on Edgewood Avenue when an and argument began between the two groups. During the course of the disagreement a male that was accompanied by his girlfriend brandished a firearm. A male from the second group also produced a firearm and fired shots striking the first male twice in the chest.
Following the initial shots being fired the girlfriend of the wounded man picked up his firearm and began chasing the group of males down Edgewood Avenue while firing shots at the group. During the course of the incident she struck one of the fleeing males in the leg.
APD investigators were able to obtain video footage and witness statements that confirmed the injured male and his girlfriend were the primary aggressors in the incident. They have both been taken into custody and charged. Police have not released their identities or the charges they are facing at this time.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming in connection to the incident.
