Jackson Man Arrested & Charged In Fatal Forsyth Shooting

FORSYTH, GA- Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) have announced the arrest of a 32-year-old man in connection to a deadly Monday shooting that claimed the life of one person. The swift arrest comes less than 24-hours after a 29-year-old man was fatally shot at an apartment in the small community of Forsyth.

On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, the GBI announced the arrest of 32-year-old Roderious Laquantez Goodrum, of Jackson, Georgia. Goodrum is now jailed and facing charges in connection to a fatal shooting on Monday evening in central Georgia.

Initial reports indicate police responded to the Forsyth Garden Apartments located on Cabiness Road around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, in reference to a shooting in the community of Forsyth, Georgia. Officials arrived and discovered 29-year-old Gregory Quentez Middlebrooks, fatally shot.

According to information released by the GBI, an argument was taking place between Middlebrooks and another person, suspected of being Goodrum. A gun was produced and Middlebrooks was fatally shot during the course of that argument.

Goodrum was taken into custody and jail records show he was booked into the Monroe County Jail on Monday, February 2, 2026. According to the GBI he has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in connection to the fatal shooting.
