41-year-old Bobby Wesley Troutman has been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting in Macon, Ga Thursday morning.
MACON, GA- Investigators with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office in Macon, Georgia have announced an arrest in connection to a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 33-year-old Henry County woman near a Macon business on Thursday morning.
Information released by Bibb County investigators indicates a call came into the Macon-Bibb County 911 center on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 10:13 a.m., indicating that a person had been shot at the Neighborhood Gas and Grocery store located at 3102 Napier Avenue in Macon.
Bibb County deputies responded to the scene and discovered a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical responders arrived on the scene and attempted to render aid to the victim. Paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital, where she succumb to her injuries according to the sheriff’s office.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones, has identified the victim as Quandrica Lashae Slater, 33, of McDonough, Georgia. Bibb County investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division arrived on the scene and began their investigation.
Investigators discovered that the victim had been shot at the intersection of Churchill Street and Brentwood Avenue, while inside of a sedan. Witnesses told investigators that the suspect was inside of a dark colored pickup truck. The victim was transported by personal vehicle to the Neighborhood Gas and Grocery where emergency services was contacted.
About an hour after the initial call was made, deputies spotted a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle on Brentwood Avenue near the intersection of Napier Avenue at 11:12 a.m. Bibb County deputies performed at traffic stop on the vehicle and subsequently arrested the driver, who investigators have identified as 41-year-old Bobby Wesley Troutman.
Upon being taken into custody, Troutman was transported the sheriff’s office headquarters for questioning and later transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where he has been booked and charged with murder.
