Gwinnett County Police Investigate Fatal Thursday Stabbing

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA- The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating the fatal stabbing of a woman on Thursday afternoon. Police have detained a person in relation to the case but have not yet announced if any charges will be filed.

On Thursday, September 26, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., officers with the Gwinnett County Police Department assigned to the south precinct received reports of a person down. Officers responded to the 3000 block of Deshong Drive.

Responding officers arrived on the scene and located an adult female suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds. First responders were not able to find any signs of life and the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. Gwinnett County Homicide detectives arrived on the scene and began their investigation

Police suspect the stabbing may have stemmed from a domestic incident. Police have identified and detained a female family member of the victim. That person was detained in another county according to police. Investigators are questioning that person in what they believe is a domestic related homicide

Police are not releasing the identity of the victim at this time as law enforcement is still attempting to notify next of kin.
