MACON, GA- A 23-year-old man is in the hospital fighting for his life after he was seriously wounded in a shooting early Tuesday morning in East Macon. Deputies responding to reports of an accident discovered something more serious when they arrived on the scene of a vehicle that had struck a fire hydrant.
Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of the 2300 block of Shurling Drive in Macon around 3:33 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in reference to a vehicle that had struck a fire hydrant.
When deputies arrived they discovered the 23-year-old victim had sustained a gunshot injury and crashed the car as a result. Paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The victim is listed in critical but stable condition.
