COLUMBUS, GA– Police in Georgia’s second largest city are investigating a late Friday night shooting that claimed the life of an 18-year-old female.
According to Columbus Police, officers responded to the 1000 block of Bay Avenue near the Downtown Columbus’ Riverwalk area at 11 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, in reference to a shooting.
When officers arrived they located an 18-year-old female victim that had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to Columbus Piedmont Midtown Medical Center for treatment but later succumb to her injuries.
Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Dustin Harrelson pronounced the victim deceased at 11:26 p.m. at the hospital according to the Muscogee County Coroner’s Office. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Kalielah Davis.
Investigators say Davis was shot while inside of a vehicle that was occupied by others. Police have not announced any arrests or a possible motive in the case as of yet. The case remains under investigation by Columbus Police.
