COLUMBUS, GA- Police in the city of Columbus are investigating a domestic-related incident Tuesday morning, that police are investigating as a possible murder-suicide. The incident also left a third person injured. Police are now probing the case.
Columbus Police responded to a residence in the 3600 block of Grier Avenue around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Upon arrival to the scene police discovered two people deceased. The victims have been identified as a male and a female.
A third person in the residence sustained injuries and is reported to have known the two deceased individuals. That person was transported to an area hospital for treatment and has been listed in stable condition.
On Wednesday morning the Muscogee County Coroners Office identified the victims as 52-year-old Rachel Savage and her 29-year-old son, Adam Savage. The third victim who had been wounded is reported to be the grandmother of Adam Savage.
Preliminary investigation suggests Adam may have been the shooter in the incident. On Tuesday following the shooting, Columbus police announced the incident was related to a domestic-related incident.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing by the Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit.
