RICHMOND COUNTY, GA- Investigators with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office have upgraded a death investigation into a murder investigation. Authorities have also named a suspect in the death of 70-year-old man found dead behind an Augusta area gas station.
According to the information released by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, around 2 p.m., the body of 70-year-old Charlie Creech was found behind a Chevron gas station located at 1501 Laney Walker Boulevard. Investigators with the sheriff’s office and Richmond County Coroner’s Office responded and determined Creech had been murdered. Investigators say Creech is homeless.
Sheriff’s investigators began to gather evidence and was able to name a suspect in the case. Investigators are seeking 43-year-old Jeffrey Taiwan Eutsay in connection to the death of Creech. Police describe Eutsay as a black male, standing 5’9″ tall, and weighing 195 lbs. Police say Eutsay is believed to be homeless.
