Police Investigate After Man Found Fatally Stabbed On Atlanta Sidewalk

ATLANTA, GA- The Atlanta Police Department is investigating an early Sunday morning homicide. The investigation comes after police received a call of a person shot but later found a victim stabbed to death on the sidewalk of a busy southwest Atlanta street.

According to preliminary information released by APD on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 1:30 a.m., Atlanta police responded to 2642 Metropolitan Parkway SW in reference to a call of a person shot. When responding officers arrived on the scene they were able to locate a male victim deceased on the sidewalk.

Officials investigated the scene and determined that the victim had not been shot, but the wounds indicated the victim had been stabbed. The incident took place on the busy Metropolitan Parkway corridor of southwest Atlanta. There are several businesses nearby including a busy shopping center across the street from the location of the incident..

Investigators with Atlanta Homicide responded to the scene and began to work on the case. Police have released no further details at this time including the victims identity. The case remains under investigation at this time.
